During this week there took place such events as
- the grand opening of Synopsys-Armenia new centre, attended by Armenian president Robert Kocharyan;
- the second Students and Young Specialists??� Contest in microelectronics;
- the graduation ceremony of Masters and Bachelors in Synopsys-Armenia Training Centre;
- the launch of a new Synopsys department in Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) State University.

MIET has been cooperating with Synopsys Company and its subsidiary Synopsys-Armenia in education for a number of years. And now it was awarded with the Synopsys Company Certificate for its contribution into CAD systems designers training. The Certificate was granted during the grand ceremony by Synopsys Company president Chi-Foon Chan to MIET representatives vice-rector S. Umnyashkin and deputy dean of ECT faculty A. Mindeyeva.
