International Relations Division was formed in 1990, as MIET started to implement international contacts, develop relations with foreign universities and research organizations and was ready to welcome foreign students.

The main tasks of the Division are:

• analysis of the international educational market;
• recruitment of foreign citizens according to quotas of the government of the Russian Federation;
• issuing invitations to foreign citizens;
• migration registration of foreign citizens;
• registration of study visas for foreign citizens;
• organization of the preparatory course;
• supervision of foreign students during their study;
• issuance of MIET European Diploma Supplement;
• recognition of foreign education documents for admission to MIET;
• accounting for business trips to foreign countries of MIET employees;
• registration and accompaniment of foreign delegations arriving at the university;
• accounting of agreements concluded with foreign educational and scientific organizations.

The Division also takes part in organizing conferences and other international events at MIET, including summer and winter schools.
