Innovation Complex
MIET is the leading city-forming university in "Zelenograd" innovative territorial cluster. MIET provides innovative infrastructure allowing to implement a promising business model, which effectively uses scientific and industrial cooperation, formation of shared infrastructure, and implementation of key technological processes. MIET generates innovative business environment: it delegates authority and competence to business partners, establishes start-up companies, allowing them to design, certificate and manufacture products. Innovative infrastructure is developed by the consortium of its permanent members: MIET, Zelenograd Innovation and Technology Centre, Zelenograd Nanotechnology Center, Zavod Proton, Roselektronika, Rusnano.
MIET Innovation Complex implements a complete cycle of producing electronic components and developing information and telecommunication technologies and devices - from an idea to a final product.Innovation Complex of MIET is the core of the Free Economic Zone and "Zelenograd" innovative territorial cluster. It cooperates with different enterprises and organizations of Zelenograd, Moscow region and key sectors of the Russian economy.
The key element of MIET Innovation Complex is Zelenograd Innovation and Technology Centre (ZITC). The Complex premises occupy 26000 sq. m. and host more than 50 innovative companies. ZITC develops IT systems and radio equipment, works on design of engineering networks and equipment, design and construction of office, laboratory and industrial buildings, industrial sites, as well as technical systems, installation and launch of technological and engineering equipment.
In order to ensure technological innovation ZITC and MIET formed a network of six centers of collective use:
- Microsystems technology and electronic component base
- Center for design, cataloging and production of photo masks
- Center for assembly and encapsulation of microelectronic products
- Laboratory for testing electronic components
- Printed circuit and assembly of electronic components
- Machining and packaging of electronic products and equipment
Manufacturing and engineering infrastructure of MIET allows producers to design and manufacture a wide range of electronic high-tech products. Research, design and technological equipment allow companies to adopt advanced technologies of manufacturing microelectronic products and equipment. In 2010 RUSNANO, MIET and ZITC created Zelenograd nanotechnology center, which manages microelectronic research and production complex, creates companies in the field of nanotechnology and biomedicine as well as favorable conditions for their performance, provides services for microelectronic devices design, prototyping, manufacturing of experimental samples and pilot series of microelectronic products. Zelenograd nanotechnology center uses up-to-date equipment from leading global manufacturers.
As a result there was created innovative infrastructure that has become the core of business not only for the residents of Innovation Complex, but for many members of "Zelenograd" innovative territorial cluster. The integration of educational, scientific and production activities on the basis of the university innovative infrastructure together with professional innovation management of ZITC provide high efficiency and dynamic development of innovation, including promising projects in the field of nano- and microelectronics, Microsystems technology, MEMS, optoelectronics, energy-saving technologies, development of smart medical devices.
Nowadays Innovation Complex conforms to the latest requirements for university innovative infrastructures possessing: a complex of buildings and structures; a network of community-shared access to research, design, technology and testing equipment; up-to-date scientific and industrial and engineering infrastructure; more than 50 innovative enterprises, including 16 start-up companies; 1700 highly qualified specialists, among them 45% of young (up to 35-year-old) scientists.
MIET continues to realize projects on further development of innovative infrastructure. JSC “Zavod Proton” (6000 sq.m.) is constantly updated and re-manufactured so as to create microelectronic basic infrastructure for developing 3D technologies of nano- and microelectronic devices, which at present determines the competitiveness of electronic equipment, including final products - medical equipment, instruments, devices.
Further development of infrastructure is aimed at creating University Technology Park – an open cluster platform with new opportunities for developing new microelectronic technologies.
