The World University Rankings rated MIET as 17th among Russian universities

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings (the WUR) is the only global university league table to judge research-intensive universities across each one of their core missions: teaching (the learning environment); research (volume, income and reputation), international outlook (staff, students and research); citations (research influence); industry income (knowledge transfer).

The Ranking-2021 assesses more than 1,250 institutions across 86 countries, including 48 Russian universities. Find the full list of universities here.

MIET took the 17th position with the following indicators for the five criteria (100 maximum):

  • Teaching – 37.9

  • Research – 14.0

  • Citations – 8.6

  • Industry Income – 80.0

  • International Outlook – 20.6

Furthermore, MIET reaches the 119th position in the global indicator of industry income, increasing the volume of research and the number of partner orders per one professor.

An important fact is that the analysis indicators were taken for 2018 year. After this time MIET has witnessed many transformations such as an internal restructuring and improvement of the personnel policy. The priority is to focus on modern innovative global trends in the scientific field, as well as to increase revenues by attracting new industrial partners. We can see a stable increase in the quantity of foreign students and professors in MIET.
