MIET students became winners of the Huawei Cup 2020
The Huawei Cup 2020 final took place on the 26th of March in Moscow. Among the 128 finalists there were three MIET representatives: student Anton Strelnikov took 2nd place in the 5G nomination, postgraduate Alexei Sviridov took 3rd place in the IP nomination, student Elena Yandaikina also took part in the final. The second and third place winners received Huawei flagship smartphones.
The Cup has been held annually by Huawei since 2015 to develop professional skills of students and young ICT professionals. The list of nominations changes every year to cover the most relevant areas in the field of ICT. In 2020, the competitions were held in eight categories:
- 5G (Technologies and standards for mobile communications of the new generation),
- Cloud (Technologies for storage and virtualization),
- APP (Development of mobile applications),
- IP (Technologies and protocols of IP networks),
- AI (Models and methods of artificial intelligence),
- Code (Sports Programming),
- ICT Observer (IKT Observer).
In 2020 20 000 students and young professionals from more than 1000 educational institutions from different parts of Russia and 18 countries of Eurasia took part in the competitions: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Moldova, Mongolia, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Estonia.
