Engineers of the Future

Engineers of the Future

MIET students took part in the International Youth Industrial Forum "Engineers of the Future" in Tula oblast from June 23 to July 2.

The Forum is aimed at systematically involving young people in the innovative development of the machine-building complex. At the event the students have a unique opportunity to be trained in innovative programs, participate in an extensive business program, as well as show their skills and talents in sport and creative activities.

The speakers of the educational part of the Forum were executives and specialists of more than 60 Russian companies, among them are Rostec Academy, The State Space Corporation "Roscosmos" and many others, as well as heads of major domestic and foreign enterprises, public figures of Russia, teachers of leading Russian and foreign technical universities, heads of federal and regional executive authorities. Young specialists who have proved themselves at the forums are included in the expert councils of the State Duma Committee on economic policy, industry, innovative development and entrepreneurship. They are also involved in active work to establish partnerships with foreign enterprises of the machine-building industry.

Our students share their impressions:

Nikita Kabaev (student from Kazakhstan, Radio Engineering):
"When I found out that there's an aviation faculty at this forum, I was so glad. I love aviation a lot, but I have never personally communicated with such specialists. And here, at the Forum, there are many of them – ranging from workers in various areas of the aviation industry to very cool speakers and engineers."

Dmitry Salogub (student from Belarus, Biomedical Engineering):
"I was surprised by the scale of this Forum and the number of qualified specialists of the military-industrial complex. I took part in an educational program "biotechnical systems and technologies", where we had lectures on artificial lung ventilation. Then there was an economic game, during which we needed to develop a simple ventilator: we designed and constructed its pneumatics, electronics, control software, housing, prepared a project plan and formed requirements for it."

Irina Domracheva (Nanomaterials):
"At the Forum, I have improved my technical and business English, public speaking skills, as well as have made some new interesting acquaintances. It is also noteworthy that each participant of the Forum needed to present their team project. I can say that you couldn't get bored there: from 9 to 6 there were educational and business programs, and from 6 to 11 is the time for cultural and sport events. I strongly advice MIET students to participate in this Forum next year. The knowledge you can gain there is priceless!"
