MIET will have its own startup studio

On July 26, Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs and Ministry of Education and Science of Russia summed up the results of the competitive selection for the creation of startup studios among Russian universities. MIET was among the winners, therefore, it will open its own startup studio together with Zelenograd Nanotechnology Center.

Startup studios allow mass creation of innovative products, which is extremely important for achieving the technological sovereignty of Russia. MIET will join the intensive work on the creation of startups, which is carried out in startup studios that have already been launched in the past, and will also continue to teach students entrepreneurial competencies and the ability to make risky, but important business decisions.

At the moment, there are 10 startups in the portfolio of the MIET startup studio at various stages of development, 5 of which are planned to be implemented in the first year, the remaining 5 in the year 2023-2024. Among the announced projects are:

• industrial automation system;

• devices protection from pulse interference to increase the service life of products;

• monitoring system for athletes in real time;

• smart hardware and software complex for remote access to a guarded object;

• a platform for the sales control of prescription drugs and others.

The program for university start-up studios was created in 2022 within the framework of the federal project "Platform of University Technological Entrepreneurship". Other key projects of the PUTP include training of entrepreneurial competencies and acceleration programs that allow a large number of students to participate in technological entrepreneurship.
