Russia and Kyrgyzstan expand horizons of education cooperation

MIET organized the "I MIET's Physics and Mathematics School" in the Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan. More than 50 schoolchildren from Bishkek participated. The organizers were MIET and School № 61 of Bishkek in partnership with the Education Department of the Bishkek Mayor's Office.

Cooperation in the field of education between Russia and Kyrgyzstan strengthens every year. This September, the Government of the Russian Federation approved a bill on ratification of the Agreement with Kyrgyzstan on joint Russian-language schools. MIET has been closely cooperating with Kyrgyz schools for many years, conducting classes for both children and teachers.

The program of the Physics and Mathematics School was aimed at strengthening the knowledge of the main technical subjects, as well as learning about the diversity and nuances of engineering professions. During one week of School, students attended daily physics and math classes, taught by MIET's leading professors and authors of textbooks that are used in schools of Russia and Kyrgyzstan. In addition to the main subjects, the students took a career guidance course. They had lectures about what engineering is and what related professions those who want to connect their lives with physics and mathematics can choose, as well as took career tests.

Most of the participants are students of Bishkek's School № 61, a long-term partner of the university. Their graduates often become students of MIET.
