MIET strengthens relations with Vietnam
On October 3-4, Hanoi hosted a forum of foreign graduates of Soviet and Russian universities and representatives of the education and healthcare systems of Asian countries. There were more than 150 participants, including heads and employees of higher education institutions, representatives of ministries and departments, alumni associations of Vietnam, India, China, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Pakistan and other countries of the Asian region. Vice-Rector for Education Alexander Balashov and Head of the Center for International Academic Relations Vlada Bykova represented our university in the Forum.
"This Forum in Hanoi is a proof of close attention that the Russian Federation gives to graduates of Soviet and Russian universities, to the people who graduated from our universities and who are developing relations between our countries," Pavel Shevtsov, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, said in his welcoming speech.
The event included various discussions, panels and refresher courses. The participants had the opportunity to communicate with representatives of the ministries of the host country and establish direct contacts during the plenary session. Alexander Balashov made a report on "Prospects for cooperation between educational organizations of Russia and Vietnam" at the round-table conference. The delegation of Russian universities also visited the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam and Hanoi State University.
In the final part of the Forum, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Pavel Shevtsov presented certificates of advanced training to the forum participants. He also thanked those present for their active contribution to the cooperation of the participating countries with Russia.
At the moment, there are about 20 Vietnamese citizens studying in MIET within the government quota of the Russian Ministry of Education. Promising areas that our university offers combined with the opportunity to use the acquired knowledge and experience for the development of Vietnam's economy in the future appeal to Vietnamese students.
