InEl Institute was named after Professor Kamil Valiev
The Institute of Integrated Electronics of MIET was named after the academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, professor Kamil Valiev. He was the founder of the microelectronics scientific school in MIET. The initiative to change the name belongs to the Academic Council of the Institute.
Kamil Valiev had been the head of the Chair of Integrated Semiconductor Circuits for 14 years. The Chair was established in November 1967 in MIET and it was engaged in the development of technology and circuitry of integrated circuits, in particular memory circuits.
As the head of the Chair, Kamil Valiev taught students all physical disciplines. He developed methodological foundations for the training of highly qualified specialists in microelectronics and organized the processes for their successful graduation.
With the changing requirements for the training of specialists and the scientific works expansion, the chair had eventually changed its name. The previous name was the Chair of Integrated Electronics and Microsystems (IEMS), which has recently become the base of the Institute of Integrated Electronics (InEl).
As noted by Vladimir Losev, Director of the InEl Institute, Kamil Valiev had made an outstanding contribution to the Chair organization and the formation of its scientific resources.
The InEl Institute is the continuation of Kamil Valiev's work on strengthening the domestic integrated electronics and microelectronics industry, as well as the contemporary development of his ideas.
