The anniversary technological competition "Radiofest-2023"

On November 26, the fifth All-Russian technological competition in radio communication development "Radiofest-2023" finished. The competition took place at the SEZ Technopolis Moscow in Alabushevo.

"Radiofest-2023" was held with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Russian Foundation for Advanced Research Projects. We have traditionally brought together people from all over Russia who are passionate about modern communication technologies and who are able to offer innovative scientific and technical ideas to the industry," said Alexey Pereverzev, Vice-Rector for Innovation at MIET.

This year, the competitions were held in the areas of "Radio Interception", "Radio Communication" and "Radio Control". 59 teams came to the competition, nine of them from MIET.

All teams have created their own software in advance for the competition's tasks and debugged them on the equipment provided by the organizers.

In the "Radio Interception" nomination, the competitors need to detect and recognize signals on the air. Points can be earned for each detected signal, bonus points are added for a recognized message, and penalty points are for received signals before the start or after the finish. The task is to score more points than the opponents.

In the "Radio Communication" category, teams must receive and send data packets through three points. At the third point, the received packets are encoded with the key provided by the judges and sent back along the same path through point 2 to point 1, and from there they arrive at the judge's computer. The winner is the team that has transmitted the largest number of information packages in one minute without errors.

In the "Radio Control'' nomination, teams must control the quadcopter for one minute without using the standard remote control, but using their own programs, as well as performing various tasks. The winner is the team with the most points.

For the first two days, the participants had refined and tested their software solutions, and on November 26, the final took place in the form of an elimination competition according to the Olympic system for the right to become winners.

University teams from Samara, St. Petersburg and Moscow won in each nomination. A special prize from the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia for "Excellent performance" was awarded to the team from MIET.
