First celebration of the Foreign Students Department Day
On February, 12 there was a first celebration of the Day of Foreign Students Department.
More than 250 students from different countries all over the world study at MIET. Most of them are from the Union of Myanmar. U Min Thein, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiaryof the Union of Myanmar to Russia, visited the celebration.
Yuri A. Chaplygin, Rector of the University started the celebration with his congratulations to the students. Then Sergei A. Lupin, Dean of the Department of Foreign Citizens Training, and Irina Ponomaryova, the head of the International Relations Division, appeared on the scene. They presented students who were successful in the education, sport and social activities with letters of commendation and souvenirs.
On that day everyone had an opportunity to learn more about the culture and traditions of foreign MIET students.
