This summer a group of students from the Graphic Design department undergoes practical training in Italy
The trip took place due to the long-standing cooperation and friendship of MIET Graphic Design department with Professor Federico Caravaggi, the director of a branch of the European school of design on the Sardinia island.
During the trip our students had an opportunity to acquaint themselves with design studios and universities in Italy.
The group’s route passed through Venice with its unique canals, blossoming Florence, the eternal city Rome and the wonderful state of San Marino. At a glass factory the Venetian masters demonstrated the magical transformation of a piece of glass into fantastically beautiful products.
MIET students were guests of the famous design studio Exnovo, whose director offered to them further cooperation after graduation.
After an excursion of historical and architectural sights of San Marino, which was conducted by a representative of the government tourism office, our students visited the faculty of design in the state university of San Marino. There they were acquainted with the basic directions of work and interrelation principles of the future designers with real manufacture.
Our students were greatly impressed by the museums of Duсati, Lamborghini and Ferrari, and also by visiting the hotel duOma in Rimini which has been acclaimed as one of the best in the world for innovations in design. The hotel art director kindly agreed to conduct a group of Russian students on an excursion of the hotel.
On the island of Sardinia in the branch of the European Design School our students took a course in sketching from a leading designer of Fiat.
On completion of the course the presentation and defense of projects took place. MIET department of Graphic Design students received the international certificates showing they had passed the unique course.
