MIET cooperates with “Kaspersky Lab”
Representatives of “Kaspersky Lab” – the most famous Russian manufacturer of protection systems from malware, spam and hacker attacks, and the biggest antivirus company in Europe visited MIET.
Stanislav Shevchenko, Deputy Chief Technology Officer and Head of Education at Kaspersky Lab; Margarita Bakina, General Manager of educational project for students – “Antivirus School as a New Source of IT-Knowledge” took part in the negotiations on possible forms of cooperation. From MIET side – Dean of the Department of Applied Information Technologies A.G. Balashov, Deputy Head of the chair of Corporate Information Technologies and Systems N.Yu. Sokolova, Head of chair of Information Security A.A. Horev and Chief of the practical training and job placement for students division, N.V. Bondareva took part.
In the course of the meeting preliminary agreements on the establishment of a Kaspersky test laboratory were achieved. The test laboratory will be managed at one of the computer classes of the Department of Applied Information Technologies.
After the official part the company’s representatives met with students. The matter was why we need protection from malware. The participants of the event learned more about the “Antivirus School” project. The most active students received prizes and gifts.
Cooperation between MIET and “Kaspersky Lab” opens additional opportunities for university students to gain knowledge and skills in the field of information protection against today’s electronic threats.
