Director of International Operations Glyndwr University visited MIET
This year in June National Research University "MIET" and Glyndwr University start "double degree" program. After a competitive selection 19 postgraduates from technical departments received a grant for 6-week training in British MA course. It became possible due to the memorandum of cooperation signed in 2011.
Brian Foxon, the Director of International Operations Glyndwr University, and Olga Edwards, the representative of International Affairs, who presented the training program last year in September, answered student questions.
New training program in "Computer Science and Engineering" has been developed especially for MIET postgraduates. Glyndwr University carries out three courses and appoints the tutor for a postgraduate. After their returning from the UK postgraduates continued their education in MIET and defend two diplomas - in Russian and English (distance). According to the results masters receive two diplomas - National Research University "MIET" and Glyndwr University.
Accompanied by Sergei V. Umnyashkin, Vice-rector for International Affairs and IT, and Sergei A. Lupin, Dean of the Department of Foreign Citizens Training, Mr. Foxon visited laboratories of biomedical systems, telecommunication systems, quantum physics and nanoelectronics, and got acquainted with the activities of scientific development center "Probe microscopy and nanoelectronics."
Brian Foxon is expected to visit MIET next academic year, sum up the first results of joint program of postgraduates training and discuss further cooperation.
