Senior Vice-rector Vladimir A. Bespalov visited Disco Europe
In 28-29 March MIET Senior Vice-rector Vladimir A. Bespalov made a business visit to Disco Europe (Kirchheim, Germany). Disco, Japanese corporation, is one of the world leaders in the production of equipment for thinning, separation, grinding and polishing materials used in micro- and nano-electronics (for example, silicon wafers of different diameters).
The program of the visit included meetings and discussions with the director of Disco Europe Karl Heinz Priewasser, as well as Joost Bosman, the sales manager of English firm SPTS Technologies (a leading company in the field of equipment for crystal production).
The main topic of the talks was to discuss and agree upon possible configurations of equipment manufactured by these corporations. Acquisition of Disco and SPTS Technologies production units will expand functional of the access centers, created by MIET and in cooperation with Zelenograd Innovation Technology Centre. They will allow students and undergraduates to gain new knowledge and skills in crystal production.
