MIET held the first conference TEDx “City convenient for life”
TEDxZelenograd took place on September, 13 in MIET. The aim was to draw attention to the unique “ideas worth spreading”. TEDx are local conferences («x» means independently organized event like TED ; their main aim is to spread TED-experience around the world.
Guests heard the ideas of 13 participants, among them: Sebastian Tran, the Director of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at Stanford University, Eduardo Paes, Rio de Janeiro mayor, and Carlo Ratti, the Director of SENSEable City Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. There also were two MIET graduates. Alex Kukharonok, the lector at Design Department, discussed how the qualitative presentation promotes scientific research. Alexander Patients, the script writer and producer of cultural events, focused on Zelenograd theming as a tourist object in the field of electronics.
Real performances alternated with video presentations that help to compare global and local experience. Original presentations and the unique atmosphere, of course, will long stay in memory of the audience.
