American pupils from Tulsa visited MIET

On February 7 the group of American pupils and teachers from Tulsa Booker T. Washington High School visited our university. The senior pupils came to Zelenograd within the framework of cooperation with the school №1150 named after К.К. Rokosovssky. Since 1996 the educational institutions have been implementing the exchange program and maintaining friendly relations.

During the excursion around the university, the guests were shown lecture-rooms and laboratories of biomedical systems, quantum physics and nano-electronics and microelectronics. The young scientists of MIET (the research worker of BMS chair I. Pjanov, the post-graduate of REC “PM&N MIET” I. Komarov and the post-graduate of ME chair I. Britkov) told pupils about the scientific developments.

Thanks to the students of the foreign language faculty the U.S. pupils learned a lot of interesting information about the student’s life and Russian educational system. They went on talking informally to the MIET television studio. The teacher Gwendolyn Palace, the head of the group, highly appreciated the level of English spoken transmissions, which make students of MIET within the project «180 VIEW». The guests watched two editions: about decorative art in Russia and main places of interest of the capital. They got presents with university logotypes as souvenirs.

It’s the second visit of American students from Tulsa within the framework of cooperation with MIET and the school № 1150.
