MIET received 3 stars in QS World University Rankings
QS Stars is a ranking system which allows students to get a wider picture of an institution’s qualities, for example, the employability of graduates, sports facilities and community engagement.
Indicators are arranged in groups or categories, each is a criterion of quality. Key criteria are teaching, the employability of graduates, research and international activities. Additional criteria classified equipment of educational process, innovation and social activity. Specific criteria are presented by the following indicators: international accreditation and university position in the ranking of QS by subject area.
As a result university is awarded the star status and received audit recommendations for the development of university activities.
MIET has been audited by QS Stars in 46 indicators; its overall status is 3 stars.
The highest evaluation was received in the following indicators: "Innovation" - 5 stars and "Equipment of educational process" - 5 stars. However, the audit noted that MIET should develop library resources and increase the number of student societies headed by students. High score of innovative activity is generated by the number of supported patents, the number of joint publications in Scopus with colleagues from other organizations, as well as the number of joint small businesses.
4 star status evaluated the quality of education at MIET. The university should increase the number of young lectors with advanced degrees.
The categories that require particularly active study, classified "Research activities" and "Accreditation rating QS in the directions." Such a study would require improvement activities aimed at improving the publication activity of the university scientists in writing editorials in English, as well as raising awareness of the university.
Today only 9 Russian universities, including MIET, participated in the QS Stars project, 6 of them got 3 star.
