MIET students have successfully performed in international Math Olympiad
International Student Olympiad (its formal name VII Open Mathematical Olympiad of Belarusian-Russian University or International Student Olympiad MathOpen 2016 Belarus) was held at Belarusian-Russian University (Mogilev, Belarus) on February 18-20. This annual Math contest for undergraduates or postgraduate students of higher education has been held since 2010 in Mogilev.
This year 39 students from 17 universities of Belarus, Poland, Russia, Serbia and Tajikistan took part in it. The participants were given 30 math problems to be solved within 5 hours.
The grand finale was on the 19th of February. The team heads were awarded 12 medals, 18 diplomas and 15 thank-you letters.
Among the winners there were a postgraduate student from Electronics and Computer Technologies Department Nikolay Shubin and a postgraduate student from Computer Science and Telecommunication Department Pavel Kizin.
The next 8th Olympiad is scheduled on February 2017.
