First student debates in MIET

On April 18 as part of the program focused on developing student association activities the first student debates were held in MIET. Participants had to consider all pros and cons and discuss the topic whether students must take a part in educational process.

The debate tournament went through several stages. By the results of the qualifiying round participants were split into teams. Every student who apllied to take part was asked to write an essay on a particular theme. According to the essay score, 8 participants were chosen to join the teams. In order to prepare for the face-to-face stage, students were given the subject of dicsussion and the recommended literature list. The debate tournament was held at a sound level, the participants prepared their arguements in advance and thoroughly studied the particular topic.

"The Debates" became a perfect platform for discussing the most relevant issues providing an ability to study an issue from various points of view.
