New MIET rector is Vladimir Bespalov

The election of the new MIET rector conference was held on May 31. University structural divisions nominated the following candidates for this post:

Vladimir Bespalov, MIET Senior Vice-rector;

Sergey Gavrilov, MIET Vice-rector for Research;

Victor Yakovlev, MIET Dean of the Evening Department.

On May 27, 2016 the Commission for the rector election got Gavrilov’s complaint to withdrawal from candidacy on his own.

During the conference, the remaining candidates presented their University development program, then the election procedure was held.

According to the results of the secret ballot, the candidate of Vladimir Bespalov was supported by 91.4% conference delegates!

Powers of the acting rector Yury Chaplygin expire on June 12.
