Professor of Functional Electronics Materials Chair V.A. Labunov is elected as the Foreign member of the Russian Academy of Sciences!
Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor of Functional Electronics Materials MIET chair, Academician of Belarus NAS V.A. Labunov became the Foreign member of the RAS in the Nanotechnology and Information Technology department on the results of the elections to the Academy of Sciences in 2016.
Vladimir Arkhipovich Labunov (born March 16, 1939 in Orsha.) is a soviet scientist in the field of microelectronics, the diplomat, the Academician of the Belorussian SSR Academy of Sciences (1986, corresponding member since 1980), Doctor of Technical Sciences (1975), Professor (1977).
He graduated from the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute (1961). Since 1966 he worked in Minsk Radio Technical Institute, since 1975 – Chair head, at the same time in 1987-1989 the Academician-secretary of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science Department of the Academy of Sciences in the BSSR, in 1987-1992 ¬¬- member of the Academy of Sciences Presidium in the Byelorussian SSR.
In 1989-1991. - Member of the USSR Supreme Soviet.
In 1990-1994. - Member of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Board of the Republic of Belarus.
In 1994-2001 gg. - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg; Permanent Representative to the European Union and NATO.
In 2002-2009. - Member of the National Academy of Sciences Presidium of Belarus.
V. Labunov is the author of over 200 scientific works, 460 inventions and was awarded the Prize of the USSR Academy of Sciences Presidium in Microelectronics in 1978.
The major foreign scientists acknowledged by the international scientific community are elected as Foreign members at a general meeting of RAS. Holders of the title get specialized diplomas and retain their status for life.
