MIET and Synopsys hold a regular scientific seminar
On May 18, MIET held a seminar called "Synopsys's innovative solutions in the design of IC and the SoC".
At the beginning of the event there was a welcome speech made by MIET President Y.Chaplygin, who noted the productive work of ESC Synopsys-MIET and wished all participants successful work. Great interest was aroused by the speech of LLC "Synopsys" Director General, E.Ivanova, that was entitled "On the development of Synopsys and trends in the CAD market".
Two scientific reports by consulting engineers of LLC "Synopsis" were devoted to the new solutions of Synopsys software: "Verification platform" by S. Belousov and "Updates and capabilities of Sentaurus TCAD" by P. Tikhomirov.
The representatives of the companies, I. Sotinov – the head of Prototyping group "Baikal Electronics", and S. Gusev – chief engineer of JSC "PKK Milandr", told about the progress in the design, which was achieved due to using Synopsys tools.
According to the results of scientific and methodical work, the representatives of MIET Centers, who use Synopsys tools in their work, made a speech: "Development and research of methods for improving the speed of integrated CMOS-route silicon-germanium geteroperekhody bipolar n-p-n transistor by Synopsys TCAD tools" by T.Krupkina and V.Evdokimov, "Characterization of digital standard cells and hard-function blocks" by S.Gavrilov, D.Ryzhova and S.Ilin.
The seminar was attended by 50 people, including Council members and representatives of the Association of Universities of electronic components; employees of companies of JSC "Baikal electronics", JSC "Russian electronics", JSC "SPE Pulsar", JSC "Angstrem-T", OA SPC "ELVIS", and universities representatives; MIET graduates, teachers and Master students.
