MIET at China Education Expo 2023
At the end of October, the annual international exhibition China Education Expo 2023 was held in Beijing. It is traditionally organized by the Chinese Association of Education for International Exchange (CEAIE).
On October 26-29, Deputy Director of the Institute of International Education Valentin Slyusar and Head of the Center for International Academic Relations Vlada Bykova represented MIET at the joint stand of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. They had a number of meetings with representatives of Chinese universities, where opportunities for further cooperation with potential partners were discussed.
MIET delegation also visited the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing, where they learned about its activities and the specifics of working with applicants from China.
Another event in the context of the exhibition was held on October 30-31. The Russian delegation visited the Research Institute of Industrial Technologies of Jiangsu Province in Nanjing, where they got acquainted with China's technological achievements in various fields. After visiting the Institute, representatives of Russian universities took part in the conference "Russian-Chinese innovative cooperation in the field of higher technical education, scientific work of universities and transfer of scientific achievements to industry". MIET was represented by Maxim Makhiboroda, Head of the Laboratory "Research of Nano- and Microsystem Technology Products".
"During the conference, special attention was paid to the experience exchange between Russian and Chinese universities in order to improve the quality of education and scientific work. This initiative contributes to an increase in the number of talented specialists capable of solving complex tasks and developing innovative products. It is also worth noting that the transfer of scientific achievements to industry plays a key role in the development of the economy and increasing the universities competitiveness in the world. Scientific discoveries and achievements become available to the industrial sector because of events like this one, and therefore it is possible to introduce new technologies and improve production processes. In general, this conference is an important step towards the development of innovative cooperation between Russia and China, and I am sure it will bring significant results," Maxim Makhiborod said.
Since 2000, China Education Expo has been held every autumn in Beijing, Shanghai and some other Chinese cities. Every year, the Expo has more than 20 stands from different countries, including Russia, the countries of North and South America, the USA, Europe and Asia. More than 600 universities from about 40 countries attract about 60,000 visitors from all over China to the exhibition.
