The InEl Institute team became winners of the 2023 CAD Contest at ICCAD

The team of professors and students from the Institute of Integrated Electronics called AlphaCHIP made the top three at the international 2023 CAD Contest at ICCAD, section "Problem C". This prestigious event in the field of automation of integrated circuits and systems design brings together leading specialists and researchers from all over the world to solve problems in the development of CAD-microelectronics. More than a hundred teams participate in the competition every year.

Congratulations to the professors of the Institute Roman Solovyov and Dmitry Telpukhov, as well as post-graduate student Evgeny Demidov and graduate student Ilya Shafeev!

"Our team had two talented students and two experienced professors who are also employees of the innovative company AlphaCHIP. This cooperation is especially significant because the company is known for its research on CAD-microelectronics and actively attracts students to real scientific and technical projects, providing valuable experience working on advanced world technologies.

The task that our team successfully solved was about the use of machine learning and artificial intelligence methods to develop new approaches in the field of very large-scale integration (VLSI) CAD. The competition was tough. I am glad we managed to show a good result. Since 2015 we have become the first team from Russia to win", Dmitry Telpukhov said.

The results of the competition were announced on November 3 at the 42nd International Conference on Design Automation ICCAD 2023 in San Francisco, USA.
