MIET joined the Russian-Vietnamese Universities Consortium
In December, MIET joined a consortium of Russian and Vietnamese universities created for joint training in IT jobs. The signing of the agreement took place at the fourth meeting of the Russian-Vietnamese Commission for Cooperation in Education, Science and Technology, co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Konstantin Mogilevsky and Deputy Minister of Science and Technology of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Le Xuan Dinh.
The consortium also includes Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University "LETI", Far Eastern Federal University and Ural Federal University.
One of the key tasks of the consortium in education is the development and implementation of joint training programs.
"First of all, there will be educational programs in the field of artificial intelligence and information technology. In addition, the Vietnamese government announced a project to train specialists in the field of integrated circuit design and manufacturing, so we believe that MIET can become the partner responsible for this area of cooperation," notes Vice-Rector for Education Alexander Balashov.
A big focus will also be on improving the skills of professors and researchers through the experience exchange. The first group of Vietnamese specialists will visit MIET in the middle of 2024. In the future, the staff from MIET will also visit Vietnam. The universities also plan to participate in joint developments.
On the part of MIET, the International Students Department, which has been working with Vietnamese applicants for many years, will implement educational and scientific projects.
The first online meeting of the consortium is scheduled for January 2024. Representatives of Russian universities together with colleagues from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology plan to point out the most promising areas of cooperation.
