The first MIET's Open Day of 2024
On January 21, the first Open Day of this year was held at the university. The event was attended by 2000 applicants and their parents.

Executive secretary of the admissions committee Vladislav Bobkov shared the main points of admission in 2024 to the audience. He said that the number of budget places grew. There are 110 more this year than in the previous one. There will be 962 budget places for bachelors in 2024. This year is going to be the start of the new educational programs: "Mathematics and computer science", "Psychology" and "Psychological and pedagogical education".
Another important admission change is that now applicants can enroll in all technical programs with the results of the computer science exam, except for "Nanomaterials". Vladislav Bobkov's presentation (in Russian) is available here.
Then the participants attended the following master classes: "How NOT to enroll in a university? 10 typical mistakes of an applicant" from the Admissions Committee, "Exams without stress" from the Psychological Service, a career guidance lecture "Marathon of Professions" from the MIET Career Development Center, as well as personal consultations with seniors.
For the first time MIET presented the newly created College of Electronics and Computer Science. The college director Svetlana Litvinova spoke about what professions graduates can obtain, who the industrial partner is, as well as what educational and career paths can be opened after this education. Representatives of the MIET's Institutes also gave presentations. Among them was the Institute of Psychology, created at the end of 2023. It will recruit students for "Psychology" and "Psychological and pedagogical education" programs. The presentation about the Institute of Psychology (in Russian) is available here.
Applicants and their parents had a chance to chat with representatives of partner companies of the university and learn about career opportunities after graduation, as well as about the targeted education. Employers from a number of companies like Angstrem, Mikron, Russian Space Systems, YADRO and others organized consultations.
There was also a master class for media classes "Work in youth media: step-by-step instruction".
