The First International Engineering School

From April 13 to 21, the MIET International Engineering School was held for the first time at the university. The career guidance project brought together talented high school students from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Every day, the participants had an extensive educational, career guidance and cultural program.

The leading teachers of the Institute of Physics and Applied Mathematics, the Chair of Higher Mathematics No. 1, the Institute of Advanced Materials and Technologies and the Institute of Linguistic and Pedagogical Education worked with the students. At the end, 11th grade students took trial entrance tests. The participants learned some basics of 3D modeling at the SMART PARK Children's Technopark, and attended career guidance training from specialists of the MIET Career Development Center.

As part of the cultural program, they visited VDNH and the "Russia'' International Exhibition and Forum, had guided tours from the guides of the Museum of MIET History around Moscow and Zelenograd, watched a play at the Vedogon Theater and visited the exhibition of the Angstrem Museum dedicated to Russian microelectronics. According to the students, one of the most memorable events was a creative challenge, where students talked about traditions, customs, language and national cuisine of their home countries.

In total, the School received more than 300 applications from school students from CIS countries. Selection process had three stages that included participation in the "RHYTHM MIET" Olympiad, a report card and an interview. 35 participants from 7 CIS countries were invited.
