Our future engineers

From June 23 to July 3, MIET students and young researchers took part in the 14th International Youth Industrial Forum "Engineers of the Future" — one of the largest educational and networking platforms for young engineering professionals in Russia. The forum featured lectures and workshops led by top specialists from major industrial enterprises and universities, as well as project work covering the full cycle from concept development to prototyping and testing.

This year marked MIET’s fourth consecutive participation in the forum. The university delegation included: Sofya Kondratyeva, student from the Institute of Advanced Materials and Technologies; Alexander Novoseltsev, postgraduate student of "Technology and Equipment for the Production of Electronic Materials and Devices" program from Institute of Advanced Materials and Technologies; and Ye Min Hlaing, postgraduate student of the same program from the Institute of Nano and Microsystem Technology. During the educational programme, participants gained valuable knowledge across two tracks: "Engineering Code" and "UAV Science." In the UAV Science track, the team featuring Ye Min Hlaing took first place. Here are some impressions from our participants:

Ye Min Hlaing: "The 'Engineers of the Future 2026' forum was my first, and I was deeply impressed. I made new friends from different countries. The organisation was top‑notch – comfortable accommodation, good food, clean rooms. I really enjoyed the venue – the forum is held in a scenic location in the Tula region, right by the river, surrounded by nature, which created a truly special atmosphere."

Sofya Kondratyeva: "The forum helped me understand the current trends in engineering and define my professional development path. The educational programme broadens horizons and promotes all‑round growth, which allows you to look at professional challenges from a different angle and discover new, unexpected applications for your work. In your free time and through the forem’s programme, you get to meet talented professionals in other fields from all over the country, which could even lead to joint projects in the future. The forum not only expanded my professional outlook and strengthened my network, but also gave me confidence in my chosen career by showing the real scale and opportunities of today's engineering landscape."

Alexander Novoseltsev: "The forum brought together around 1,000 participants from 56 regions of Russia and 61 countries. This created a fantastic environment for sharing experiences, allowing me to connect with many colleagues from other holdings, young professionals from across the country, and representatives from foreign nations. Such lively interaction fostered a warm and friendly atmosphere among the participants."
