MIET's III International Engineering School at Issyk-Kul

On September 21, the third MIET International Engineering School at Issyk-Kul concluded in Kyrgyzstan. The project brought together talented high school students from various cities across the republic. It is worth noting that the educational program received over 150 applications from schoolchildren in Kyrgyzstan. Following a two-stage selection process, which included an assessment of candidates' academic records and interviews, 50 participants were invited to attend the School. The competition was 3 applicants per spot.

Throughout the week, the students attended daily classes in mathematics, physics, and computer science aimed at strengthening their knowledge in core technical disciplines. The program instructors were leading MIET faculty members:

The participants also attended career guidance lectures and workshops. They learned about the engineering profession and related career paths for those wishing to connect their lives with physics and mathematics; took part in workshops on choosing a profession based on one's talents and aspirations; and learned more about getting an education in Russia and the ways to enroll into Russian universities, including MIET.

In the evenings, the students participated in creative events, workshops, and competitions focused on developing soft skills.

Following the project's results, the best participants of the MIET International Engineering School will receive letters of support for their university admission applications. On September 15, the application period for foreign applicants for studies at Russian higher education institutions under the Russian Government quota for the 2026/27 academic year began. Those wishing to participate in the selection must register on the website education-in-russia.com by December 15, 2025.

MIET's partner in conducting the School was once again Bishkek's School No. 61, with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Bishkek Mayor's Office Education Department, and the Rossotrudnichestvo office in the Kyrgyz Republic.

The International Engineering School was organized by the MIET Image Projects Center as part of the university's development program "Priority 2030" in the area of increasing interest among foreign applicants in obtaining a higher technical education at MIET.
