MIET Week at the Russia Expo

MIET Week at the Russia Expo

From February 27 to March 3, more than 300 MIET students and hundreds of VDNH visitors took part in the lecture "On the Edge of Science", as well as other events of the MIET-themed week at the "Russia" International Exhibition and Forum.

The week started with a lecture by Ivan Pyanov, associate professor of the Institute of Biomedical Systems, "All that's mine I carry with me, or Artificial organs: made in Russia." The audience took a keen interest in the works of Russian scientists, including those from the Institute of Biomedical Systems and the Institute of Bionic Technologies of Sechenov University. Ivan Pyanov spoke about artificial kidneys and pancreas, as well as about the wearable auxiliary blood circulation device "Sputnik", which was presented at the exposition in pavilion No. 57. After the lecture, everyone could go and see it during the tour. Earlier, on February 14, Ivan Pyanov presented the auxiliary blood circulation device "Sputnik" in the pavilion of the Ministry of Health at VDNH as part of the day called "Matters of the Heart". The main topic of this day was the prevention and treatment of diseases of the cardiovascular system.

The lecture hall called "On the edge of Science" during the MIET Week had a format "one day — one lecture". Associate Professor at the Institute of Physics and Applied Mathematics Nadezhda Bogdanova gave an interactive lesson on the topic of "On the path to quantum Information Technologies". Guests participated in the discussion of modern mathematical and physical concepts and thought experiments with their ideas.

Ekaterina Evgrafova, associate professor at the Institute of Digital Design, arranged a trip through the world of virtual reality for the guests of the exhibition.

Artem Kvach, assistant professor at the Institute of System and Software Engineering and Information Technology, analyzed the trending topic of "Artificial Intelligence in everyday life".

Visitors learned about the importance of size in electronics at the lecture "Electronics and Nanoelectronics" from Nikolai Shubin, associate professor at the Institute of Integrated Electronics.

The highlight of the final day was the lecture "The use of nanoscale materials in neuromorphic artificial intelligence technologies" by Renat Sibatov, professor at the Institute of Integrated Electronics. He spoke about basic principles of neural networks and reviewed the successful experience of implementing electronic and photonic neuromorphic systems using nanomaterials.

In addition, a career talk show for applicants "Who will you become when you grow up: an engineer, a scientist or an entrepreneur" and an interactive master class "Tesla Coil" for the youngest guests of the Russia Expo took place.
